Come for a perfect holiday in west Cornwall, in a recently converted, self-contained annexe in the heart of a working dairy farm only ten minutes from the most beautiful beaches in the Principality.
We first visited west Cornwall about thirty-five years ago. We drove down from the midlands in a tiny car, packed with luggage, a baby and a small child. It was a baking-hot day, there was no air-con. in the car and the traffic was appalling. In those days the A30 went through towns not around them and the queue of crawling traffic into Oakhampton was miles long. By the time we arrived at our tiny, rented cottage we were hot, dehydrated and exhausted and we made a promise to ourselves never to return - but, after unpacking, we raised the strength to drive down to Sennen Cove and walk along the road by the sea. Within an hour we felt as if there had been no car journey and west Cornwall was the only place worth living and we made ourselves another promise - that, although we had no money and no practical way of doing it, one day we would live in west Cornwall. It took us another twenty years to make the move but, for every one of those twenty, we managed a week or more in Penwith as our children grew. We learned to plan the journey, with early or very late starts, and scanned the property pages whenever we were there. We had no plan, just a dream and, at times, we paid quite a price for the dream but we have never regretted it for a moment - there is nowhere like it. Oh yes...and it's Poldark country. Now we'd like to share what we have;
..............................you might want to dream too.
