Welcome to Gwestva
A self-catering holiday cottage in Cornwall - ‘Gwestva' (Cornish for hospitality) is a tastefully converted, self-contained, traditional granite outbuilding, providing stylish and affordable holiday accommodation, perfect for one or two guests looking for a holiday in the far west of Cornwall. With its high-beamed ceiling and soft decor, it provides a light and airy environment which offers under-floor heating for the cooler months and solar-reflective blinds for those welcome sunny months.
We're lucky enough to live in a hamlet on a working farm with private gardens and open views to Chapel Carn Brea. You can fly to the Scillies from Lands End airport a couple of miles away or, if you prefer, just catch distant views from the bottom field.
Gwestva is set in our extensive grounds of over three acres. Guests are welcome to use any part of the garden which has a picnic table, patio furniture and a barbeque . Spike and Khan, our two Alpacas, will be happy to see you and our free-range chickens love attention as much as you’ll love their free-range eggs.
The village of St Buryan is a short walk away with a pub, post-office and shop, garage, community centre, farmers’ market and impressive church.
At the moment we're offering bookings through February to the end of April 2020 but can't accept later bookings because our own plans are a tad fluid. We will add more availability a month or so at a time as we go along. What we can promise is that once we accept a booking you can be assured Gwestva is reserved for your stay.
We want to offer a Cornish holiday that almost anyone can afford so that the savings guests make can go towards enjoying themselves. We've managed to hold our rental rates for this year and will continue to donate 5% of the letting income to the charity Freedom from Torture.
